At DU education we understand the barriers young people face within their current educational arrangement and so we at DU education have developed a training package to help the student develop their skills and knowledge whilst feeling safe, comfortable and confident whilst doing so. Social and emotional wellbeing support, 1-1 is provided throughout all of our training and mentoring services.

Our packages have the option to be altered when necessary, ensuring the induvial needs of each young person are met.

Vocational package

Our vocational package includes a practical hands-on course which requires in depth training/ mentoring with our highly qualified members of staff. The students will engage in an internationally recognised qualification, overseen by VTCT org, covering a range of Hair and Beauty therapy units. Sessions are carried out in the salon allowing the students to work in a realistic working environment, where they can feel safe and comfortable whist engaging in learning activities.

Learners will carry out both practical and theory work, where maths and English functional skills are embedded with industry related tasks to ensure the students develop in all areas.

Qualification offered- Hairdressing and beauty therapy, entry level up to level 2

Course length-6 months.

Contact days – 1-2 contact days per week

Along with our in-house packages we also offer off site mentoring, where we can bring our training centre to you.

These packages can be implemented specifically to the young person’s individual needs and level of learning.

During an induction a needs assessment is completed to identify the young persons learning style sand expectations of the course. A tailored plan is then implemented specifically to the young persons needs.
