It is the main objectives of DU training to motivate, develop and support young people in alternative education and the pathway to their future life.

It is our objective to support and educate all our young people to a standard of excellence, encompassing quality, safe and secure environment for them to learn and develop skills., with a high level of support throughout.

It is the objective DU training that every young person shall should have a clean, comfortable and safe environment, and to be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities.

Staff are highly trained in their field and will be responsive to the individual needs of young people and will provide the appropriate degree of training, care and support to assure the highest possible quality of learning.

To meet the needs of these young people the team are designed to achieve the following objectives;

To deliver a service of the highest quality that will improve and sustain each person’s overall quality of learning and life.

During induction to undertake comprehensive in-house assessment of a young person’s needs, to identify the young person’s learning style and expectations of the course. A tailored learning plan is then implemented specifically to the young person’s needs allowing for an accurate learning, and support plan.

To support each young person with their daily and learning needs as they arise.

To ensure that the learning and support service is delivered with structure but also flexibly, attentively and non -discriminatory fashion, while respecting young person’s right to independence, privacy, fulfilment and the rights to make informed choices.

To ensure that each young person’s needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race or ethnic origin, sexuality and sexual orientation, political affiliation and disabilities or impairments.

To manage and implement a programme of staff training and personal development to enable highest quality of training and support and young people’s needs be met.

To manage the training and support service efficiently and effectively to make the best use of resources and maximise value for money for the young person.
